  • Healthiness was the most important motivation to accept mealworms.

  • Across countries, aversion and dislike were common motivations to reject mealworms.

  • Almost two-thirds of Italians used strong words (“aversion”) to reject mealworms.

  • Mexicans used milder words (dislike) to reject mealworms compared with other countries.
